The way that water flows and splashes around makes for the perfect picture opportunity. Add some sunshine to the mix and the perfect setup, boom. The above shot was taken at new City Hall in Toronto. The perfect day, and to think I wasn't even going to go to City Hall that day. I changed my mind, I'm glad I did.
Or you could look at it this way. Now you see it. Both shots were taken on the same day, just different angles. I spent what felt like forever standing and then sitting by this area. First deciding what I wanted and then actually taking the picture and finally when I got home editing for dramatic viewing pleasure. Actually, sometimes I go here just to look at the water. As I've said in past writings, the water is soothing to watch, it puts me at ease in so many ways.
Here is another place many people go day to day. But close up may not know what it is. A couple years ago I spent many days and many hours just sitting in front of this fountain, mostly because I didn't know what to do with myself while waiting for OSCE test from the CMTO (College of Massage Therapists of Ontario). Study and more studying. There were these days where I didn't want to study for a bit so I would come here and chill. The Toronto Eaton Centre. This is the fountain they have on the lowest floor in the center of the mall. It has been there since the mall opened in 1977.
This shot above shows the view a bit better. I love this fountain, as it has been a part of my life for such a long time. Even to this day I will still stand there on the second level, leaning on the railing looking down at this beautiful sight. When the water shoots into the air, it is always three times. That is when they turn the fountain on.
Finally we get to this. The Humber River again. This shot was taken near Weston Road and Lawrence Avenue. The nice little path they have back there that runs along side the river makes for a great walk in the park. I used to live up there, not so great the area now, but there still is the wonderful sound of crashing water running over rocks and things, brings peace to a racing mind. My old apartment used to face the back of the building, when I would get home from work I would open up the balcony door and stand out there looking at the river, listening to the great sound that calms me.
