The picture in picture that you see here is actually sitting on my grandparents wall right now as we speak. I really have no idea what it is, but for my entire life I've been looking at it puzzled and trying to figure it out. Is is a ship? Is it a landing dock for planes? Is it a weird checker board? What the hell is it? I think my Grandpa thought that it would be fun to make people guess for many years what is up on the wall behind the couch. I'm not sure who the artist is or was, for all we know this thing could be worth a lot of money. Or not. It's a real painting, you can tell when you touch it. Good one grandpa, good one!
For many years I have seen this camera hanging out at Lansdowne and Dupont. Always on the bus, never being able to get out and take a picture of it. You can tell it doesn't work, but it's just one of those odd things that I see all the time. Finally I went photo picturing, and took the shot. That only took my something like seven or eight years to do, this is what I got. In good timing too, because they are doing construction on this building, new condo. The building sat empty for many years, however things are happening now and I wasn't going to miss my chance to take a photograph of a simple camera that seems to mean so much to me.
Just an emergency light that sits on the ceiling at work. I look at it all the time when I'm massaging clients, never thought to take a picture until this one boring day that we were really slow. The lighting in the room was at the perfect setting to show a perfect shadow. This is what you get when I'm bored. I still look at it all the time when I work at the Toronto Eaton Centre. Go figure, the odd things sometimes or the most interesting in someones eyes.
